Entry is only open to Australian residents. Entrants under 18 years of age must have a parent’s or guardian’s consent to enter, and such parent or guardian must sign such documentation as provided by the Promoter to confirm such consent upon request.

Employees and immediate families of the Promoter and their related entities and associated agencies are not eligible to enter. Immediate family means any of the following: spouse, ex-spouse, de-facto spouse, child or step-child (whether natural or by adoption), parent, step-parent, grandparent, step-grandparent, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, brother, sister, step-brother, step-sister or first cousin.

Exclusive Artist Event Access | Everyone that enters gets exclusive access. Details will be shared via the e-mail address provided upon submission.

This is a game of skill and chance that plays no part in determining the winner. Faber-Castell will select the winner based on artistic merit. Below is a description of criteria that make up artistic merit, which will serve as a guide for the jury when selecting the winning artwork.

  1. Storytelling: The ability of the artwork to convey a narrative or evoke a specific emotion or idea. It involves the artist’s capacity to engage the viewer’s imagination and communicate a clear, compelling message through their visual representation. Key Aspects:
    1. Narrative Clarity: How well the story or message is communicated through the artwork.
    2. Emotional Impact: The ability of the artwork to evoke strong emotions or connections with the viewer.
    3. Engagement: The degree to which the artwork captures and maintains the viewer’s interest.
    4. Cohesion: The consistency and logical flow of the story or message within the artwork.
  2. Creative Freedom: Refers to the artist’s originality and inventiveness in their work. It evaluates the uniqueness of the concept, the innovation in execution, and the overall creativity demonstrated in the artwork. Key Aspects:
    1. Originality: The uniqueness and distinctiveness of the concept or idea behind the artwork.
    2. Innovation: The creativity and novelty in the approach, techniques, or materials used.
    3. Expressiveness: The degree to which the artist’s personal style and vision are evident in the work.
    4. Imagination: The level of creativity and inventiveness in the subject matter and execution.
  3. Skill & Technique: The artist’s proficiency in using their chosen medium, including their understanding of fundamental artistic principles and their ability to execute their vision with precision and control. This criterion evaluates technical mastery and attention to detail. Key Aspects:
    1. Technical Proficiency: The artist’s skill in using tools and materials to create the artwork.
    2. Understanding of Fundamentals: Knowledge and application of artistic principles such as composition, color theory, perspective, anatomy, and lighting.
    3. Precision and Detail: The level of meticulousness and refinement in the artwork.
    4. Consistency: The overall uniformity and coherence of the technique throughout the piece.

Yes, you can enter as many (unique) artworks into the competition as you wish, ensuring each of your entries comply with the requirements outlined in the Terms & Conditions.
